Roast Loin of venison with a Forest Berry and Drambuie Sauce

Whats this?

*Skirlie - an old Scottish dish of pan-fried oatmeal and onion that was eaten by the highland farmers straight from their sporrans while they ploughed the fields - hence the name - Kilted Skirlie!

*Rumbledethumps - a dish from the Scottish Borders consisting of crushed potatoes, onions and cabbage, similar to the Irish Colcannan

*Scotch Mist - Chef's own creation consisting of crushed strawberries folded into freshly whipped cream

Why so many International dishes?
Modern day Scotland is an ethnically and cuturally diverse nation and we take this and our head chef's International culinary experience into account when making our menu, not to mention that curries have now taken over 'fish n chips' as the most widely eaten dish in Scotland - fact - but we still do fish n chips too!

A wee end note...

Almost every last dish on this menu is prepared using only fresh ingredients, incorporating organic produce wherever possible and because of this, the cooking time might be a wee bit longer for some dishes, but we hope it will be worth the wait! Look on the bright side - you can always enjoy a tot of something or other from our extensive wine list while you wait - just ask one of your bonnie servers!
